Fri, 4 May 2018 Chanzo: dailynews.co.tz

Oilers have already played 14 matches in the field of 16 vying for this season’s league’s silverware.

Still, Oilers lead the league table after accumulating 27 points, two more than their closest challengers Savio who have netted 25, but with a game in hand.

The defeat left them with tough job ahead as Savio who have also lost one game can surpass them if they beat in-form Vijana City Bulls in epic game to be held this Sunday. Following the win over Oilers, JKT have moved to the third position with 24 points garnered from 13 matches.

Vijana City Bull also enhanced their title race following their 76-67 victory over Tanzania Prisons at the same venue on Tuesday.

Vijana City Bulls have remained at the 4th position with 23 points from 13 matches, while the defeat left Tanzania Prisons crawling at the 12th position with 17 points. As said by DB Technical and Competition Director, Gosbert Boniface, this year’s league has been highly competitive despite going on very well.

He said that today matches ABC will take on Jogoo; JKT will return in action against Magone, before ABC again faces Don Bosco Youngsters.

He said on Friday JKT will face UDSM Outsider test while ABC are scheduled to meet Pasic. He said that Saturday fixture will see Don Bosco Youngsters facing UDSM Insiders, Ukonga vs Magone, Prison vs Savio, Kurasini vs Mabibo, Jogoo vs Oilers and Vijana vs Kigamboni.
