It was the team’s second win of the league which now enters its last rounds. Miembeni are now placed 12 with 13 points on the league table. Prior to their match with Zimamoto, Miembeni were second from bottom, a position which is now held by Kipanga who have posted 11 points. Miembeni’s vital goal was netted in the 90th minute by Yahya Haji Salmin ‘Karoa’.
Tuesday was also a good day to Jang’ombe Boys who defeated Chuoni FC 1-0 in the second league game at the same venue. The win positioned Jang’ombe Boys at the 8th place with 24 points. Prior to the encounter, Boys were glued at 10th position. KVZ are commanding the Zanzibar Premier League’s pilot seat with 35 points. The leaders are scheduled to play Mafunzo today at the Amaan Stadium.
Jang’ombe Boys scored their winning goal just a minute from the start through Mohammad Soud Foum. JKU are second on the log with 32 points while KMKM who have carved 28 points claim the third position. Zimamoto who lost to Miembeni, are positioned fourth with 28 points. Taifa Jang’ombe are placed fifth with 24 points, Black Sailor with 24 points are sixth ahead of the seventhplaced Mafunzo
