Addressing members of the media yesterday at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Ninje said the morale within the talented junior squad is high and the boys are ready for the match.
“We have had good preparations prior to the game and my players are hungry for success. So far, no injuries have been reported in my team, something which gives us confidence to do better in tomorrow’s (today) match,” said Ninje confidently.
Adding, the coach urged Tanzanians to descend at the venue in their big numbers to back up their team from first to the last whistle, bearing in mind that home ground advantage will play an important part for the victory. Quizzed whether he has any knowledge concerning DRC teams, Ninje replied that “I do not want to know anything about them, I will know them tomorrow (today) during the match,” he said.
Ngorongoro Heroes captain Dickson Job assured football lovers in the country that in respect of the preparations they have undergone in the past weeks ahead of the match, winning is their number one target. “My colleagues in the team are all fit for the encounter and we demand support from home fans throughout the game,” Job, who captained Serengeti Boys during the Africa Youth Championship (AYC) in Gabon early last year said.
In his words, DRC Head Coach Jean Mukanya said their mission is to win the away game and put themselves in a good position ahead of the return encounter. “Before coming here, we conducted ample preparations in Kinshasa and now we are just looking forward for the big game,” Mukanya said.
Commenting on the 2-0 loss that the DRC senior team suffered from Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in an international friendly game played at the same venue on Tuesday, Mukanya lauded Stars for the victory, while insisting that DRC had a number of injured players, who were excluded from the tie. His captain Ismael Lukoki said they are 100 per cent ready to win today’s match and that they will put it all on the battlefield to register positive results.
Ngorongoro Heroes played two build up matches against Morocco and Mozambique last week at Uhuru Stadium, winning both matches by 1-0, 2-1 respectively and the boys will play lungs out to continue their home winning streak.
