Serengeti Boys, who played their second match after a 1-1 draw with Uganda Cobs, were leading 3-0 until the end of the first half.

It took Serengeti Boys just four minutes to open their goal account through Alphonce Msanga following Sudan’s defensive blunder.

The Sudanese youth reacted strongly after conceding the goal but they failed to organise their attacks to the advantage of the Boys.

Serengeti Boys added the second goal in the 27th minute through Mustafa Nankuku and a minute later, Edson Mshikarandi added the third for the Tanzania U-17 team.

Gallant Serengeti Boys completed the first half with hefty 3-0 lead. Alphonce Msanga again opened the second half with a beautiful goal in the 59th after solo efforts. Serengeti Boys continued to dominate after Msanga’s fourth goal.

The goal-hungry Boys added their goal in the 78th minute through Jaffar Mtoo after a combination with his fellow players.

Kelvin Paul sealed the goal-festival by netting the sixth in the 83rd minute. While the win was a big boost, the loss put Sudan out of the championship race after losing the second game.

Sudan suffered a 3-0 loss to Uganda Cubs who are through to the CECAFA U17 semi-finals in their second and last group B match played at the Gitega Stadium. The Uganda Cubs needed all the three points from the game after Zanzibar was expelled from the tournament leaving only three teams in group B.

Andrew Kawooya unlocked the game with seven minutes left to the halftime break and then doubled four minutes later to hand Uganda a comfortable lead into the breather.

Moses Bakabulindi sealed the victory three minutes into the second stanza to seal the victory and erase any chances of Sudan coming back into the game. Tanzania U-17 Boys have advanced to semis from Group B.
